| Report on the Pratigam 2006 |
| (SDM-IMD Alumni Meet 2006) |

| This December brought together the alumni of the Institute again to SDMIMD in the form of Pratigam 2006 held on 2nd and 3rd December 2006. |
|
| Inaugural Programme |
|
| The inaugural programme of the Alumni Meet commenced at 5.30 p.m. in the SDMIMD Auditorium on 2nd December 2006. ANTS (Alumni Network Team of SDMIMD) organized the program with much élan. |
|
| Prof. Malathi Sriram, Chairperson, Alumni Committee extended a hearty welcome to the alumni
and the dignitaries to the Alumni Meet – Pratigam 2006. She requested the alumni to go
round the campus to see the changes that have taken place. Prof. Malathi then briefly mentioned
about the Institute-Alumni Interface progress. Prof. Malathi invited all alumni to register on
the Institute webpage and update their details. |

| Mr. Jaseer, on behalf of the ANTS, extended a warm welcome to the alumni for having come down to
Pratigam 2006. He described the Meet as a homecoming of the alumni. He presented the genesis of ANTS
and its need. He called for an increased student-alumni interaction. Mr. Jaseer, in conclusion, appealed
to the student community to carry the torch of Pratigam in the future. |

| With a Welcome Back message to alumni Prof. J.M. Subramanya delivered the Director's
address. He welcomed all the alumni and others to Pratigam, addressed the alumni as leaders
in innovation, research and student-centered learning, sharing the vision of the Institute.
He also stated that he has witnessed the remarkable contributions of the alumni for making SDMIMD a
management institution renowned for its student-centered approach. |

| Mr. Vipin Prasad, President, Alumni Association, also spoke about the Alumni
Association and its participation in this Meet and the Meets before this, so did
Mr. Niranjan Naik, Past President, Alumni Association,
Mr. Siddarth.K, the student
of 2nd year PGDM gave a presentation
on transition of SDMIMD then
and now with reference to
a few achievements of the
institute in the academic
year 2005-2006. The presentation
in itself was remarkable
with a video
Mr.Shashir, presented the concept of Naissance the
annual management fest conducted by the Institute and appealed to the
Alumni to help make it a grand success |

| The day culminated with a fantastic cultural program that had the alumni foot tapping and in splits. |
|
| The faculty members left after a sumptuous dinner, for the students to dance, with a camp fire, almost through the night. |

| 3rd December 2006 |
|
| The day began with Sports for the Alumni and a general knowledge quiz. Thereafter Panel
Discussion on several tracks viz., Finance, HR, Marketing Systems and IT were held for the Student - Alumni
Interactions. |
|
| Prof. K. Balakrishnan, Chairman, Placements held a briefing for the Alumni and
appreciated them of their efforts in helping place SMDIMD students. |
|
| Pratigam 2006 concluded on a high note of optimism that the next Alumni meet would
attract more and more Alumni to the Institute than the 200 odd that it had done in this
Meet of Dec 2006. |

An Invitation to Pratigam 2006
Dear Alumnus,
Season’s Greetings to you all !
Yes, the SDM-IMD Alumni Meet of 2006 is on the 2nd and 3rd December 2006, (Saturday and Sunday) at the SDM-IMD Campus. We are sure that most of you would have gathered this news through the informal channels and also the formal invite from the director.
The Meet will formally commence on the evening of Saturday, 2nd December and continue half a day on Sunday the 3rd December 2006. We invite you to reach Mysore soon after, noon, to gear up for the evening.
The Agenda for the Meet would have been received by you. If not, we request you to send your email id to alumni@sdmimd.ac.in so that we can send the agenda to you. We expect your whole hearted participation in large numbers.
On Saturday, our Hostel Rooms are made available in limited numbers, on a first-come first served basis for you.
