The SDM-IMD Library is an IT enabled resource centre for teaching, learning and research. Being the heart of the academic centre with an aim to provide "Anytime, Anywhere Access" to information, the library contributes and supports SDM-IMD in transforming talent into business leadership.
The three-tier design maintains and develops a comprehensive collection of information resources which predominantly houses literature related to Management and its allied subjects. The SDM-IMD Library holds a hybrid collection of printed as well as electronic resources which include books, journals, databases, AVs, CDs/DVDs, e-books, e-journals, reports, course materials, case studies, conference proceedings, training manuals, etc. Currently the library holds over 15000 books, 140 print journals, provides access to 2100 e-journals, electronic corporate databases, newspapers and business magazines, abstractive databases, database pertaining to case studies and additionally, 120 multimedia resources.
Modeled on the pattern of specialized libraries,
the library is backed by efficient service and facilities, supplemented
by courteous and competent staff. The institutional repository,
which provides access to the intellectual output of the faculty
members and the student community, acts as a reference tool for
the management pool in contemporary issues and strategic applications.
Approved by the Union Ministry of Human Resource Development
as a Training Centre, it trains graduates in the area of Library
and Information Management. Institutional membership with prominent
libraries in Bangalore and Chennai supports the activities of
the library.
